Advice & Tips: It may not work for anyone, but it sure works for me. Even though I've been on Gliclazide 80 mg for a while, a plot of my Blood Glucose graphically demonstrates when I started taking Metformin as the lines suddenly converge into a non-diabetic comfort zone. The single most important reason for getting my doctor to prescribe Metformin, even if it's only 500 mg BD to start, is that it features in a couple of studies showing that it may slow or halt the growth of G4 GBM tumors (c.f. M. Carmignani, M. Aldea, O. Soritau et al., “Glioblastoma stem cells: a new target for metformin" - google it). I've not felt any of the side effects reported, and would happily trade the Glicazide 80 mg for a higher Metformin dose.

Advice & Tips: I did lose weight while taking this (which was good because I'm obese) however, it gave me very vivid dreams that sometimes followed me upon waking making me hallucinate for a few seconds until I was FULLY awake.

Advice & Tips: Make sure if you are on Metformin, to get liver enzymes tested at least once a year. If you start feeling extremely tired and maybe some pain in upper right abdomen, have your doc order a cat scan. That will see your liver and report if you have fatty liver

Advice & Tips: I was using two canes as it was so difficult for me to walk and keep my balance BEFORE taking the medication. Within two weeks I was walking with no assistance for several months. Some of the i instability returned and I have partially relied on one cane ever since from part to full time.
