Advice & Tips: Attivan, is a major plus for me. The pill dissolves quickly in the mouth and the time of initial effect is such (10 - 15 min. ) that I can take a dose and feel calm or I can take what is needed to stop a seizure. The calming effect is effective since I seize and my muscles tense . The impact on my life has ben great because of the fact that I now have a rescue mdication that I can trust and believe will accomplish what I want it to do.

Advice & Tips: Ativan has a very serene, calming affect on the nervous system. Since the drug has such an affect I only take the prescription drug when needful. Other benefits from the drug is that it allows the nervous system to do its job and at the same time if you are in pain, you will experience some relief. The impact of this drug on my life is expotential. I need the rescue medication as well as the relief from pain.

Advice & Tips: My eyes seem to be puffy and swollen in morning. When I tried to lower dosage, the rib pain worsened, so it must be of some help other than RLS. I would not be able to sleep without it. It also seems to quiet my urgent bladder in that I rarely have to go to the bathroom during the night.

Advice & Tips: I have been prescribed 1mg of Lorazepam up to 4 times daily as and when required. I ALWAYS carry 4 tablets with me just in case. I find that if I do not have them with me I panic even more that I may need one! So far I have only had to take a Lorazepam moderately when out and about. I find that it used to work wonders but now only takes the edge of my anxiety and panic. Maybe this is because I am building up a tolerance to this medication or maybe my GAD is getting worse, I do not know.

Advice & Tips: This sleep med was prescribed for me many years ago by my neurologist and also my primary care doctor. I learned it is not for long term use. It was very tough to switch from this to the new med -- Trileptal- for sleep. I had to find the right dosage. I had found a psychiatrist that helped me manage my medication and this was the med she prescribed for me. I wonder a lot if there is anyone else that takes Trileptal for sleep.

Advice & Tips: My doctor recently prescribed this to help me through the death and dying of my mother. I was exhausted and could not sleep. My father also had been in the hospital and I had stayed with him almost 24/7 and was basically running on nervous energy. Taking this MADE ME relax and take time to deal with the death of my mom and let others care for dad for a few days and allow myself to heal from a bad hurt and severe stress in order to not have seizures that I feel she knew would come if I did not rest. She and I both know well that STRESS is the main cause precursor to most of my seizures and she knew that at that time I was not making good judgment calls about my health. Thank You Christine!
