Advice & Tips:
There is a trend with many transplant doctors I have been reading about, to end the use of prednisone in some types of patients involving some types of organ transplants. The number of damaging side effects is one reason. Also with weight gain comes risk of developing diabetes again. Also many people report it makes their aggression higher and patience much lower. Mood swings is another problem with it. This drug is very helpful with a number of ailments and diseases, as well as in transplant. The downside is the terrible side effects most people suffer from extended use. I am now experiencing a lot of bone and joint pain, which I have never had before.
Talk to your doctor, but before you do, go to your internet and search for Transplant without Prednisone, or some similar search, and read for yourself. It is very informative, but be careful of who is doing the reporting.
If you have questions about anything involving my experiences, please feel free to write to me, it alerts me in my regular email which I check 3 times a day or so.
Good luck all!

Advice & Tips:
Swallow quick, taste is nasty! This drug made me hungry all the time, wanted to eat every 2 hours or so. Weight gain is a real concern. Went form 149# to 175#. Pants waist 29-35". Neck size 15 3/4-17 1/2". Required new clothing, and I keep to my diabetic diet thru force of habit to this day! Wanted to see if I could discontinue it, and was told yes, but I would decrease my survivability of transplants by 30%. Not a gambling man...lol, so I am still taking it and hating the weight gain.
