Advice & Tips: It is a slight pain because you're not supposed to eat for two hours before or an hour after, and I'm trying to keep weight on and don't have much of an appetite anyway, meaning taking 6 more hours out of the day when I can't eat on top of the others when I don't care to may not be helpful. But otherwise I don't notice it.

Advice & Tips: I think this extended my time by at least six months. I started taking it about two months after my diagnosis. I've been told it's more effective when you start taking it early like I did. The drawback is the expense. I started it while I was still working and had very good health insurance. I also had a card from the manufacturer that the ALS clinic gave me for $100/month off for a year. Even with all that I still had to pay $400/mo out of pocket! Now I'm on medicare with blue cross med advantage and now pay $500/mo. They tell me it's $1100 before insurance. I have to admit it's been worth it though. I saw a definite slow down in the progression of the disease.
