Advice & Tips:
My Doctor reccomended I come off this drug to start a new type. I was told to decreace the amount over the period on 5 days, and then have 2 days break before starting new medication.
On day 7 I was found by a friend in bed. I was having suicidal thoughts and was the lowest I have ever been. I could hardly stand up and was having terrible tremors. I had not eaten, washed, got up for 3 or 4 days.
I was seen by a phsciatrist and admited as a day patient to a local mental health hospital.
I was unable to look after my children, drive my car, go to the supermarket, and certainly not work. I have been off work for approx 10 weeks. I am a single parent and have had to survive on SSP which amounts to £80 per wk and have now got Debt Issues, I have to go back to work which is causing anxiety because of the stigma attatched to Mental Health.
The father of my children is reluctant to let me see them as he has had to take over and care for them. I am now having to start legal proceedings which is yet another problem causing me anxiety.
Nothing is documented on the internet to suggest such a bad reaction to decreasing fluoxetine yet I have been told by a proffesional that she herself has seen '3 or 4 people on the floor due to being taken off their medication'
