Mar 25, 2010 (Started Oct 21, 2009)

  • Perceived effectiveness for Pain: Moderate
  • Perceived effectiveness for Arthritis pain: Slight
  • Perceived effectiveness for Inflammation: Moderate
  • Side Effects: None
  • Adherence: Always
  • Burden: Not at all
Dosage: 200 mg Daily
Advice & Tips: I was started on this medication due to I was on coumadin for a time for a blood clot I had July 2009. I couldn't take anything else except for Celebrex and it actually has been helpful somewhat in my pain & inflammation. I still am very stiff when I wake up, though. Nothing much changes that! But overall, it does a better job than ibuprofen with managing pain of the RA.
Cost: $25-49 monthly

Jun 1, 2006 (Started Jun 01, 2006)

  • Perceived effectiveness for Arthritis pain: Slight
  • Side Effects: Severe
  • Adherence: Always
  • Burden: A little
Dosage: 50 mg Daily
Advice & Tips: Don't take it if you have bad side effects. I switched to Mobic and have no bad side effects unless I take the 15mg. (high) dose for more than a few months...then I get gastrointestinal distress. On the 7.5mg. dose I have no bad side effects, and can even add another 1/2 of the 7.5mg. pill at another time of day.
Cost: < $25 monthly
