  • Effectiveness
    Slight (for Pain)
  • Side effects
Moderate (liver problems possible, stomach pain, liver impairment)
  • Adherence
    Always
  • Burden
    A little hard to take
Dosage: As needed
Advice & Tips: When you have to take this all the time it is time to move a different medication up in dosage or move to proper pain management medications such as codeine. The risk of danger to your liver is not worth the partial pain relief this drug provides at high dosages.
Cost: $25-49 monthly

  • Effectiveness
    Slight (for Pain)
  • Side effects
    Moderate (stomach pain, liver impairment)
  • Adherence
    Always
  • Burden
    Somewhat hard to take
Advice & Tips: Tylenol is fine for occasional but I think making people with MS take it constantly is a bad idea. I have been relying on this for years as a back up to Ultram as Ultram only treats nerve pain. I know that my liver is not going to survive without damage for much longer at this dosage.
Cost: < $25 monthly
Side effects: stomach pain, liver problems possible
