Advice & Tips: I have a gadget that measures sleep type over time, and i found that zopiclone provides more 'deep sleep' time over promethazine, which is exactly what my brain needs for quality healing and 'cleaning' time after radiation therapy. `Best' is natural sleep after an active day, but you won't get that on 2-4 mg per day of Dexamethasone! LOL Note: for me, 30 minute window from dropping the pill to hitting the hay. After 30 mins, i'm clusmy, half asleep already, but after 0 mins, the initial wave goes, can fight it (e.g. into a film) or just go with the flow, taking longer to drop off, with the 'danger' of feeling groggier next morning.

Reason given, was that to take a dose every day would diminish the effectiveness of the drug... Not sure whether to believe this or not, will discuss this further with my GP on my next visit..

Jul 5, 2010 (Started Nov 15, 2009)

  • Effectiveness
    Major (for sleep problems)
  • Side effects
    None
  • Adherence
    Always
  • Burden
Not at all hard to take
Dosage: As needed
Advice & Tips: Zopiclone has been prescribed to me since around November 2009. At present I am having to take one every night because I have major sleep problems (mainly caused by ghastly hot flashes). Luckily Zopiclone still works wonders for me and I can more or less guarantee that within half an hour of taking a tablet I will be asleep.
