Dosage: 40 mg 3 times a week
Advice & Tips: I'm not sure yet how effective Copaxone is in reducing exacerbations, I've only taken it for 6 months.  But an unexpected positive is that I have noticed my energy level has improved - even early on in the summer (when I usually slow down a lot due to the heat), I felt an increased energy.

  • Adherence

Aug 18, 2017 (Started Aug 08, 2002)

  • Effectiveness
    Can’t tell (for multiple sclerosis)
  • Side effects
Moderate (injection site itching, lumps and bumps, redness, injection site reaction, itching)
  • Adherence
    Always
  • Burden

Dosage: 40 mg 3 times a week
Advice & Tips: My initial injection from two days ago is still a welt and itchy (on my abdomen). Gave my new shot in the arm using the Autoject and preceded by a hot compress. That seems to have made a nice difference with itching and welt. Will have to see how things look the day after. The autoject was actually better than I thought. I used a depth of "4" and it seemed to really work.
Cost: < $25 monthly
Side effects: injection site itching, injection site reaction, redness, itching, lumps and bumps

Aug 16, 2017 (Started Aug 08, 2002)

  • Effectiveness
    Can’t tell (for multiple sclerosis)
  • Side effects
Mild (injection site itching, lumps and bumps, redness, injection site reaction, itching)
  • Adherence

  • Burden
    A little hard to take
Dosage: 40 mg 3 times a week
Advice & Tips: I have started the Copaxone 40mgs 3X a week injection and this will be a lifesaver for me. I also used some Benadryl cream after the injection and this helped with the site injection welt I typically get. Remarkable results using that cream. Wish I would have known earlier! I have to go on a DMD after my last relapse. Don't want any more issues.
Cost: < $25 monthly
Side effects: injection site itching, injection site reaction, redness, itching, lumps and bumps

Aug 15, 2017 (Started Aug 08, 2002)

  • Side effects
Severe (injection site itching, lumps and bumps, redness, injection site reaction, itching)
  • Adherence
    Always
  • Burden
    Somewhat hard to take
Advice & Tips: I have discontinued Copaxone 40 mgs after a bad allergic reaction (anaphylactic reaction whcih was more than the immediate post injection reaction). Face flushing, chest and back pain, throat closing, extreme chest and back pain and heart rate jumping around from 55 to 155 in a matter of a minute - feeling of doom, thought I was dying for sure but did everything to stay calm and took 50 mgs of Benadryl and Combivent. It was pretty horrible to be honest. I have started Aubagio and am on my second dose today. Some diarrhea and night sweats.
Cost: < $25 monthly

Advice & Tips: This round of Copaxone has not been good for me. I have now developed large, itchy welts that are still present over 5 days later with no sign of going away. I am concerned about cellulitis and my risk for that. This drug is not worth the hassle for me.

Advice & Tips: I started taking Copaxone four years ago this coming December and I recently had an MRI that the neurologist stated was "remarkably stable." That's despite the fact that I sometimes forget to take it with the memory issues I do have.
