Jan 28, 2009 (Started Jan 12, 2009)

  • Perceived effectiveness for Multiple Sclerosis: Major
  • Side Effects: Moderate
  • Adherence: Always
  • Burden: Somewhat
Dosage: 1 dose Yearly
Advice & Tips: So far I have only had the first 5 day course of Alemtuzumab. I had most of the expected side effects, chills/fever, rash, fatigue and headaches. In addition, during the actual infusions, I had a number of asthma attacks that caused the treatment to be prolonged while I recovered with Benadryl IV and my rescue inhaler. Some days I was in the infusion center for over 9.5 hours. I'm hoping things go a little smoother next year! ;-)
Cost: < $25 monthly
Side effects: Headaches, Rash on stomach back and legs, Allergic reaction, Fatigue, Fever/chills
