  • Adherence

Advice & Tips: I must say, I feel very lucky to have gotten access to RCH4. Each quarter when I go to my clinic visits the doctors always tell me how surprised they are at how slow my progression is. I am approaching five years since my symptoms started and four years since diagnosis. Granted, I am stuck in a wheelchair because of my leg weakness. That said, they are surprised that I can speak as well as I do, as well as feed myself and chew and swallow. I can even get out with friends and have fun. Go out to have lunch or dinner and sometimes even catch a movie. I am also very grateful for the charity that provides it. I really appreciate all the work that they do to gather all the data from each of us to track its effectiveness. I understand that they plan on starting larger-scale trials in the future.

Advice & Tips: My situation is very similar to what it was the last time I wrote a comment. My arms and legs have gotten a bit weaker. That said, my doctors are very surprised at how slow my progression has become. They are also very surprised that my breathing and eating is going well. The weight that I put on I have been able to maintain. I believe that the RCH4 is helping me quite a bit.

Advice & Tips: After taking this for just over two years I am pretty amazed at what it has done for me. I did not start taking it until a year after my diagnosis. My progression has slowed dramatically. And, I still have no evidence of the disease affecting my breathing, my eating, and my swallowing. Additionally, I have actually been able to put on weight. I've been told that that is absolutely remarkable.
