Advice & Tips:
DO NOT LET THEM PUT THE DRAIN IN WITHOUT PUTTING YOU OUT! I had PTSD from the shock of being stabbed to put a tube drain in. The nurse told him that I was wide awake and needed more medication and he declined. It was one of the top worse experiences of my life. The drain to remove the abscess works great to remove the puss and after 15 days in the hospital with drain, I got to take my drain home and get in my own bed!
It took me a year to recover from the sepsis and have my drain removed and move on.
