Advice & Tips: I put this surgery off for many years, until the pain was so bad I had no choice. The recuperation was difficult, as I had trouble swallowing and could not talk for several weeks. But I have had only minor neck pain since then. The bones still have not completely healed, so I'm still under the surgeon's care.
