I was diagnosed with sporadic ALS limb onset in April 2016 and noticed symptoms in 2015. It started with a slowed step and then drop foot in my left leg. I still have the use of the both legs except I'm using an AFO on my left ankle for support.
I'm a Christian, by my faith I have a positive mental attitude and belief that God can cure my (or any) illness. I believe that God DIDN'T give me this disease or that he wants his children to suffer. I also believe we are made in HIS image and the human body is fashioned by God. If we give our bodies every opportunity to heal (spiritually and physically) they will.
Since my diagnosis I'm on supplements, I eat clean grass feed/free range meats and all organic vegetables and fruits. I've also changed my soaps, cleaners, tooth paste and deodorant to all chemical free. I'm fighting this disease on the assumption that neurotoxins found in our food, air, and everyday plastics is partly (if not all) to blame for increases in ALS patients throughout the world.
As of Sept. 23, 2016 I've decided not to wear my AFO anymore except as needed. I feel my body has responded positively to the supplements, exercise, and clean eating that my ankle is a little stronger than what it was. I'm now using a soft cloth ankle wrap and the gait in my step is much better. I'll use the AFO as needed.
As of April 30, 2017 I'm using a rollator to get around. My legs below the knee are compromised and my balance is way off. I took a spill on that day and felt it was in my best interest to use the rollator.
I received this eBook from an ALS survivor who was given it by someone who was diagnosed with ALS and given only three weeks to live. Now four years later he's fighting it back! Click here to download a copy
