I am a 58 year old widowed since 1992 I have 2 sons. Bryan and Brad and 5 granchildren. I work a part time seasonal job. I was DX'd with MS in 2000, when I developed drop foot. I became very afraid but then snapped out of the poor me stuff. Since Bill died I was working 2 jobs taking little time for me and my health. Most of the time I was so busy I forgot to eat, I wasn't sleeping well. When I was told about the MS they said, stress from the unexpected death of Bill was most likely when the MS started. Since 2000 I started to take care of me!
The biggest problems I have with the MS is fatigue and the heat. I can be standing in a air conditioned room and the sweat is pouring off my face and my hair is soaked.
I live with my dog (Lady) my golden doodle and 2 cats Patches and Tiger. I love the summer and hate winter. I enjoy summer, I love to be outdoors working in my garden, and playing with Lady.
Every other weekend my 2 oldest grandchildren spend the weekend with me. Cameron is 12 and Cayla is 9. My grandkids are the reason I am taking good care of me. They never had the chance to meet their grandpa so I plan on sticking around for a long time.
It is now Aug.2014. Yesterday while I was at work my right eye started with double vision. Does this mean that my MS is getting worse? It only lasted 15 to 20 mins. But it scared me to death.
Life sure isn't easy sometimes but I am determined to fight this disease!
