We bought a 10 week old maltese who was diagnosed with a liver shunt and had surgery. He can never have protein. He passed AKC Canine Good Citizen and passed the Certified Service Dog. He was privately trained and then tested. He is our precious Spencer who weighs 9 lbs .25 oz. He was born July 9 , 2009. When I freeze , I say feet and he begins scratching at my feet. Somehow it works and I stop freezing. On occasion that I do fall. I say help, if no one is around ,he runs over to the emergency box and presses the button . The monitoring station calls and if no answer, help arrives. My iron Rowena iron apparently was burning inside of the iron, I wasn't aware of it ( I can not smell). Spencer kept circling me, whining and jumping up at me, I thought I was having another stroke. I sat down, and looked up at the iron, and saw it arc and burst into flames. Immediately pull the cord out of the socket and pushed the iron in the sink. Spencer is my hero.
To look at me, most of the time, I look well. My tremors are not bad but when I am standing, My back is arched, I walk when I can, dragging my left foot and sometimes my right foot looks like I am trying to pedal a bike.
I am begining to choke quite a bit. I have dry eyes, I can't smell and have a dry mouth. I choke on my drool at times, and it is so bad that someone pounds on my back trying to get me to breathe.
I am a fighter and will not give into this!
I can't complain, God has been good to me. I had a stroke in 2004 . I was paralized on my left side. It took a year of physical therapy, to be back to 99%. I have been truely blessed! My husband served 22 1/2 years in the Marine Corps before retiring. I am quite interested in Military & Parkinson's disease. We have been married since Aug. 2,1966. I feel totally blessed.
