What is thyroglossal duct cyst?
A thyroglossal duct cyst is a benign congenital abnormality and one of the most common neck masses. The cyst is a pocket in the neck, leftover from the thyroglossal duct, that is filled with fluid. It is typically asymptomatic unless it becomes infected. Treatment may include antibiotics or surgery.
