Chondrodermatitis nodularis helicis is a benign, painful condition of the outer ear. It is thought to be caused by prolonged pressure on the outer ear. Initial treatment is usually through a foam cushion to relieve pressure on the ear. Occasionally, cryotherapy or surgery is necessary.
