What is Alexander disease?
Alexander disease is a condition affecting the white matter of the brain and the destruction of myelin. Myelin is the covering that insulates nerve fibers and allows for the rapid transmission of nerve impulses. Some symptoms include seizures, and loss of motor and intellectual disabilities.
