What is macroprolactinoma?

A prolactinoma is a benign—noncancerous—tumor of the pituitary gland that produces a hormone called prolactin. Based on size a prolactinoma can be classified as a microprolactinoma (less than 10 millimeters in diameter) or macroprolactinoma (greater than 10 millimeters in diameter).
