What is multi-infarct dementia Swedish type?

Multi-infarct dementia of the Swedish type, first identified in 1977, is a rare small vessel disease characterized by multiple infarcts in the brain and cognitive decline. It was first thought to be a type of CADASIL but after further review it is now considered a novel disease.
