What is neurogenic bowel disorder?

Neurogenic bowel describes a lack of nervous control which prevents the bowel from functioning correctly resulting in fecal incontinence, chronic constipation, or both. The cause of neurogenic bowel can include spinal cord injury, spina bifida, multiple sclerosis, and diabetes mellitus.
