What is hypothyroidism?
Hypothyroidism is a condition in which the thyroid gland is not producing enough thyroid hormone. The reasons for hypothyroidism may include an underlying autoimmune disease, inflammation, imbalance of iodine levels, certain medications, surgical removal of the thyroid or radiation treatment.
