What is X-linked adrenoleukodystrophy female carrier?

X-linked adrenoleukodystrophy (X-ALD) is a progressive, genetic disorder that affects the adrenal glands, the spinal cord and white matter of the nervous system. Although X-ALD predominantly affects males, many female carriers eventually develop neurological symptoms.
