What is diffuse idiopathic pulmonary neuroendocrine cell hyperplasia?

Diffuse idiopathic pulmonary neuroendocrine cell hyperplasia is a rare disorder. The majority of patients are middle-aged women who present with symptoms of cough and dyspnea, obstructive abnormalities on pulmonary function testing and pulmonary nodules, and bronchiectasis.
