What is hip disarticulation (right)?

Hip disarticulation is the surgical removal of the entire lower limb at the hip level done as a result of trauma, tumors and severe infections. On approach to the procedure is to separate the ball from the socket of the hip joint, while another approach retains a small portion of the upper femur.
