What is Henoch-Schonlein purpura?
Henoch-Schoenlein purpura (HSP) is a systemic vasculitis (inflammation of blood vessels) that is due to deposits of the antibody IgA in the small vessels and kidneys. Patients present with a rash (purpura) caused by small hemorrhages in the skin.
