What is scabies?

Scabies is caused by infestation with a mite known as Sarcoptes scabiei. It burrows under the skin, causing intense allergic itching. Spread is primarily via direct contact with an infested individual.

Common symptoms reported by people with scabies

Reports may be affected by other conditions and/or medication side effects. We ask about general symptoms (anxious mood, depressed mood, fatigue, pain, and stress) regardless of condition.
