What is popliteal artery entrapment syndrome?

Popliteal artery entrapment syndrome is a rare vascular condition in which the muscles and tendons of the leg compress the popliteal artery. The reduced blood flow through the artery can cause cramping and pain during exercise. Surgery may be required to relieve compression.
