What is posterior tibial tendon dysfunction?

Posterior tibial tendon dysfunction is a disorder affecting the foot, causing progressive flatfoot. The condition occurs when the tendon becomes inflamed or ruptured resulting in a lack of stability and support in the foot. Treatment includes orthotic devices, medications, and/or physical therapy.
