Hurthle cell carcinoma is a rare type of thyroid cancer. It can either be benign or malignant. Hurthle cell carcinoma has the highest rate of metastases of any differentiated thyroid carcinomas. The most common treatment for this type of cancer is surgical removal of the thyroid.
