What is hydatidiform molar pregnancy?

A hydatidiform mole or molar pregnancy is an abnormal growth that forms inside the uterus at the beginning of a pregnancy. A complete molar pregnancy is characterized as an abnormal placenta but no fetus; a partial molar pregnancy occurs with some fetal development and an abnormal placenta.
