What is inappropriate sinus tachycardia?

Inappropriate sinus tachycardia (IST) is an elevated heart rhythm. The mechanism is not well understood. The normal heart rate is considered to be 60 to 100 beats/min, with sinus tachycardia being defined as a rate exceeding 100 beats/min.

Reports may be affected by other conditions and/or medication side effects. We ask about general symptoms (anxious mood, depressed mood, fatigue, pain, and stress) regardless of condition.
