What is pervasive refusal syndrome?

Pervasive Refusal Syndrome is a rare child psychiatric disorder that is characterized by pervasive refusal to do things and angry resistance to help. For instance, children may refuse to eat or take care of themselves. It is mostly seen in girls and can be reversible with careful therapy.
