What is tropical spastic paraparesis?

Tropical Spastic Paraparesis is a chronic and progressive disease of the nervous system and immune system that causes progressive weakness, stiff muscles, muscle spasms, sensory disturbance, and sphincter dysfunction. This condition occurs predominantly in tropical countries.
