What is familial exudative vitreoretinopathy?

Familial (inherited) exudative vitreoretinopathy is an eye condition affecting the retina, the vitreous, the clear, "gelatin like," substance inside the center of the eye and the blood vessels that feed the retina. Symptoms can vary and develop over time.
