What is tenosynovitis?

Tenosynovitis is the inflammation of the fluid-filled sheath (synovium) that surrounds a tendon (tough band that usually connects muscle to bone). It can result from infection, injury, overuse, or strain. Some symptoms include pain, swelling, and difficulty with movement.
