What is gray matter heterotopia?

Gray matter heterotopia is a neurological disorder that is characterized by the gray matter in the brain being located in the wrong part of the brain. It is associated with epilepsy and can affect higher brain functions and motor skills. Seizures are generally resistant to medication.
