What is Narcotic Bowel Syndrome?

Narcotic bowel syndrome is characterized as a group of symptoms due to the use of opioids, including constipation; dry, hard stools; straining; and incomplete evacuation. Preventative measure can be taken to minimize the symptoms such as an increase in fiber in the diet and laxative use.
