What is respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection?

Respiratory syncytial virus infection, also known as RSV, is the leading cause of lower respiratory tract infection in infants and young children. It manifests primarily as bronchiolitis (inflammation of the smallest air passages of the lungs) and/or viral pneumonia.

Reports may be affected by other conditions and/or medication side effects. We ask about general symptoms (anxious mood, depressed mood, fatigue, pain, and stress) regardless of condition.
