What is Apomorphine?
Apomorphine is a dopamine agonist derived from the painkiller morphine. Its therapeutic use in Parkinson's is limited by the fact that it causes vomiting when taken orally and has a short half-life. However as an injection it is rapidly effective, and can be infused slowly using a small pump.
