What is Rifabutin?

Rifabutin, available under the brand name Mycobutin®, is an antibiotic used for the prevention of disseminated mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) in patients with advanced HIV infection. Off label it is used in multidrug regimens for treatment of MAC.
