What is Irbesartan?

Irbesartan is a antihypertensive agent sold under the brand name Avapro®. It is used in the treatment of hypertension alone or in combination with other antihypertensives. Also used in the treatment of diabetic nephropathy in patients with noninsulin dependent diabetes and hypertension.
