What is Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA)?

An example of Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA)

Gamma-aminobutyric acid functions as a neurotransmitter in the central nervous system, decreasing neuron activity thus preventing them from overfiring. With niacinamide (B3) and inositol, GABA prevents anxiety and stress-related messages from reaching the motor centers of the brain.

Advice & Tips
It was hard to tell if this stuff really helped for sleep and anti-anxiety. I feel that it probably worked in a very mild way.

Advice & Tips
I seem to feel slightly calmer when I take this but it could be a placebo effect. Using it as part of an anti-insomnia"cocktail" may or may not be working. I will probably stop taking this when I run out, then I'll see if I miss it.
