Phytoestrogens are plant-derived estrogens that have the ability to cause estrogenic or/and antiestrogenic effects. These estrogens are obtained through the diet, not from within the body. Flax seed and other oilseeds contain high levels of phytoestrogen, as well as soybeans and tofu.
