What is Lumpectomy?

Lumpectomy is a surgical procedure that removes the breast lump, cyst, or suspicious tissue seen on the mammogram and some surrounding tissue as well. Lumpectomy can also be referred to as "breast sparing", "breast conserving" or "segmental mastectomy".
