Advice & Tips: Trying to get a physician to prescribe pain medications especially opiates, is really difficult. They don't understand that we use it only when we need it and we are not abusing it.

Advice & Tips: Be ready with a plan for the constipation that you will most probably have. Give your body time to adjust to this meds

Advice & Tips: If taking this med for a long period of time and even though the med was never abused, it is living hell getting off of it. Please do it slowly and not cold turkey. I only take it now when I have an extremely high level of pain that the Tramadol does not get rid of.

Advice & Tips: Make sure if you feel its not helping to tell your doctor ASAP, and make sure he understands what you are telling him/her. If you know your body develops a tolerance after prolonged use make sure you tell your doc before taking this med, so they can have a heads up incase you call and report its not effective

Advice & Tips: One does not work, and it does not last long, I believe due to my gastric bypass surgery. Ultram seems to work better for the long term, and vicoden (at least 10 mg) for short term, acute pain.
