I was off Artane for several months, by my request. I started again because my tremors started getting bad again. I did not see any improvement in my memory loss while I was off of the artane

Started taking Artane when diagnosed. It helped my tremors, but had a devastating effect on my short term memory. My neuro and I felt like it was time to start weaning me off of Artane on Oct 29,2009. I took my last dose morning of Nov 20, 2009. Went from 5mgs 4xdaily to 2.5 mgs 1xday over 3 weeks. Have not seen any real improvement over short term memory loss but over all feel better physically. My tremors have not increased significantly enough to warrant going back to Artane.

Experienced tiredness when first starting for a week or so. When discontinuing, stopped after weaning down to 1 tablet daily for ten days, MAJOR BRAIN FOG. Impaired cognition, focus, numbness feeling in the head. Went back to 1 tab for 15 more days. Today is second day off and the head feels a little like a mild headache.

Discontinued under recommendation of neurologist, due to possible effects on heart valves I think.
