Advice & Tips
I have found cognitive behavioral therapy to be a waste of time for me personally. That said I do think there are a LOT of people that would benefit from this type of therapy. I wasn't in it very long at all, maybe 2 months, and that just is not enough time to get any real gain from it, in my opinion. It was very hard for me to apply it to every day life, but I did learn a few coping techniques to apply, and I do that routinely, but I still falter somewhat. Overall, I think this is a good therapy, I think I just need to find a therapist that I feel more comfortable with, and where the therapy is not solely cognitive behavioral therapy. I hope this helps someone!

Advice & Tips
I take mood stabilizer-Lamictal (because of short half-life-I take 200mg a.m. and 200mg p.m.) and ADHD med. Vyvanse ( because of insomnia potential) I take in a.m. The rest I take at bedtime because of sedating effect. Because of the therapy I have worked through issues of abuse and many other issues have been eliminated, solved, brought peace and healing. I sometimes just get plain tired of taking meds everyday, however I do stay med compliant.

Advice & Tips
Public transportation is not practical here unfortunately. I am usually not able to drive myself to my appointments. Friends used to drive me, but they got too busy. Now my husband works from home one day each week so he can take me to my appointments. My functioning is greatly increased as a result of my weekly therapy sessions. Sometimes I don't want to go because I don't feel well enough to work on any challenge, but my therapist urges me to meet with her anyway so she can monitor me. I guess it's like being an outpatient who has to check in regularly. I am so challenged by day-to-day living, I am not able to work on long-term goals. I look forward to when I can.
