Advice & Tips
Therapy works if you realize that it's worth feeling scared, vulnerable, confused, and mystified if all this is going to work or how versus being alone with your depression or chronic anxiety or feelings of having no one to talk to that will really listen and work with you and is there just for you. It's such a hard process but such a privilege when you find that person you just feel will be the one to go through the bowels of hell with you and not give up on you or the work. It's hard work for both the therapist and the person needing therapy. Never forget that. Always ask burning questions. Don't let problems or questions simmer on the back burner. Be bold. Even if you are awkward, can't stop crying, feel really low and stupid. Make that space your safe place to go and heal. It works. It really does.

Advice & Tips
I like that my psychiatrist is acutely active and engaged in my treatment. She is able to provide (brief) psychotherapeutic insights into some of the crises that arise. She also approaches it from a more holistic POV, double checking medication interactions, how the fibro is affecting me, pain levels, etc. in regards to the depression and dysthymia
